Default AKo - Folded the nut straight

BB in this hand is really bad and has sucked in a few big pots recently. Cold calls with any two PF, loves to show when he bluffs with middle pair, etc. Is there a better line or is this ok?

I would check the flop honestly. This villain sounds like the type of guy you want to just value bet. As played I would fold the river.

If the pot was $7.5 on river, and he threw a $5 bet I may call. That may be a mistake though.

Yeah, I think this is kind of a meh flop to CB against a loosie since a ton of his range hit a hand or draw. As played, I'd fold to any river bet bigger than like 1/4 pot. He might have the occasional 89 here, but almost every other hand that had a remote reason to call the flop is now sailing a boat of fools.

Yeah after looking at this again I think it was pretty standard. A check on the flop might have been better but I didn't think he would check behind and I didn't want to check/fold. Just one of those days... He had 89o FWIW.

While I agree that checking the flop against this player isn't horrible, when we bet, it's very possible that we're betting for value.

Turn and river are standard.

Soul,

try not to share the winning hand until later on.

c-bet is iffy here, IMO, but you may get some decent meta game out of it later.

You can check behind the flop since you're in position. Sucks you folded the best hand, but he def. doesn't have 89o more than the 1 in 3 times you need to call on the river here.
