My friend who is much better than me HU proposed a wierd HU variation to me.
He promised to never bet, raise or fold. Only check and call. In exchange, I have to agree to the following handicaps: 1) There is an ante which is the size of a BB 2) He always pays the BB 3) I may not raise preflop, only call his BB or fold. 4) The turn bet is the same size as the flop bet. 5) I may not bet on the river. 6) If I don't fold preflop, I have to pay a dead blind which is X times the ante. He insists that if X = 1, the game is fair. Would I be a sucker to play this game with X = 1? |

Will medium+ stacks this is pretty awesome for you in NLHE. I assume you're referring to LHE though - in which case this resembles a table game.

Assuming the blinds are $.5/$1, is the bet size for the flop/turn fixed at $1, or is it $2?
From there just calculate out optimum strategy based on ranges... and see if it's +EV for you or not. |
