Selling my action (not an offer just a question)
I'm considering selling some of my action for an upcoming string of 10k tournaments. I've only played 4 major live tournaments but I got second at the PCA and bubbled at the borgata and I'm a solid winner in 5/10 and 10/20 NL online. What is a reasonable price to charge for shares of my action in 10k WPT type tournaments? I guess a similar question is just, what kind of ROI can a well above average but not top tier player expect?
EDIT: Reading through this forum I noticed theres been a bunch of staking solicitation, I just wanted to clarify I'm not asking anyone for money. |

Re: Selling my action (not an offer just a question)
I have never sold or bought any action, but if you came to me wanting to discuss a deal this would be my line of thought.
4 tournies is too small of a sample size to start thinking you have a definite +ROI. Therefore, I would want an equal percentage dollar for dollar. Ie, $5k=50%. (I would also split entry fee for the 50%) There is a small list of players I would consider taking a smaller percentage of the payout compared to the percent of the buy-in. Obviously what game they are playing will affect this decision, but here is a small list. Ivey Reese Greenstein Matusow (Shock Collar Mandatory) Negranu Hellmuth (obv. NLHE only) I think I would give up 10% MAYBE 15% of their action. *Add Raymer |

Ike, think in terms of a staking deal, if the staker paid 100%, what would they get for their part? Say 50% for a winning player, just for the math. So 100% stake = 50% of action. If that's the case, smaller chunks can be sold just like that. |

It is obvious they dont need buy-ins, I was letting him know it would take this kind of player for me to take less than dollar for dollar on a single tourney. Do you have enough intelligence to EXPLAIN why you think dollar for dollar is crap? Let's face it, for any single tournament the odds of Ike placing in the money are very small. If a deal consisted of splitting 30 tournaments then the staker should take less than the dollar for dollar, but not less than 35%. This is only given that the player has a proven track record of placing in 10k events. Dollar, D-O-L-L-A-R, Dollar. (not doller) *waiting for a coherent response* |

Re: Selling my action (not an offer just a question)
Now I'll expand a little basically your staking deal assuming an infinite bankroll means you should stake anyone who is +ev even if it's a tiny edge. Assuming I had the bankroll for it their are literally hundreds of people who I'd stake with that rate although fwiw most of them aren't idiots so they would never take my offer.
