Default Stars Cashout Trip Report - Post 2/2/07

I apologize in advance if this is not useful information.

2/5/07 - Request cashout via Check from Stars, amount > $1k
2/5/07 - Minutes later receive confirmation email from Stars Support with notification to wait up to 15 business days to receive the check.
2/12/07 - FedEx delivers check to door (note: No tracking information sent via email in the previous week).
2/12/07 - Note that check is indeed processed by Chexx, Inc. and dated 2/7/07
2/12/07 - Cash check at local bank - no issues.

Side note: I couldn't help but feel slightly uneasy about the process. That's perhaps my own hangup, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable cashing and/or depositing such checks on a regular basis. YMMV.

Bank held my check and went as far to call me and ask what the check was for, specifically asking if it was for a "lottery." I would not tell them and they simply put a hold on it. We'll see in a few days.

if you tell the bank that it's from online poker, what's realistically going to happen?

i deposited a $10K check at my bank a couple of days before the Neteller fiasco and nobody asked me any questions.

I requested a check of $1,000+ from Stars on 2/5 also.

I haven't received my check yet. I e-mailed them about tracking and they said this:

"There has been a slight delay in receiving the FedEX tracking information but please be assured that we will forward this information to you as soon as possible."

So maybe they have a hard time getting the tracking info from the check processing company.

Anyway, hopefully my check will be here soon.

What will happen? probably nothing, but of the 3 options Id pick telling them its from some consulting work over either online poker or lottery. My bank didn't ask though so I really could care less

I requested one on the 7th, and haven't heard anything, so you're not alone.
