Default ATs BB Scenario

5/10 B&M

I hold A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the BB. A tight passive player raises from MP1, loose-passive player cold-calls on button, and I call. The flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I check, MP1 bets, button calls, I check-raise.

Typically, if I am headsup with MP1 take wa/wb and go c/c, c/c, b/f in this situation (right?). However, given here that the loose player is in the hand, I think I have enough of an overlay to check-raise. Is this correct? If the cold-caller was a more solid player, would the answer change?

On this drawless board I would still play WA/WB.

I don't see a "tight-passive" player raising from MP without 99+ or AJ+, and I have my doubts about 99. I muck preflop with only 1 other player.

easy call preflop, i would bet out on the flop, if called bet out on turn and c/c river depending on how tight is tight. if raised on the flop i would call it down.

I'm not convinced by the c/r

So, what range of hands do you put this "tight-passive" player on, that open/raised in MP?

Are you seriosly folding preflop getting better than 5 to 1 on A10dd? I wouldnt even fold this without the looser player CCing. I like the flop c/r and then lead the turn and fold if raised. On the river it obv depends how the board comes but I vary between a bet/fold and a check/call.

this is one of those hands where there are different ways to play it without really giving up anything

A good place to mix it up.

Easy preflop call on ATs. Folding there is horrible IMO.

I don't mind the flop c/r. I'd probably just bet and see if he raises though (warning bells for a TP)

Don't c/c the river, bet/fold it when called on the turn.

Why? What have you got going for you that the "tight-passive" player who open/raised doesn't? Is it that you think he has 99 & under? A9s and under? Certainly not QJs.
Maybe KQs?
I think you're dominated the majority of the time here and suited cards turn into flushes 5 times out of a 100.

"tight-passive" open/raising to me, means 88+/AT+/KQs, meaning you're a 36/64 Dog. If he also plays KQo with an open/raise you're a 40/60 Dog. Plus, you're OOP.

Call me Tighty, but I'm muckin.
