No, it's perfect. He's in the money, which means his range is looser now. You have a decent hand and 4x his chips.

OK, when I looked back on it, I felt that I was basically gambling on a coin flip that could do some decent damage to my stack. I guess he's probably pushing a lot less than A9+ though, huh.

I'd for sure call! Even if it is a coinflip you're a) on the best side of it and b) there's a whole boatload of dead chips in the blinds..
