Wiring cash to the cage
I am going to Vegas this Wednesday through Sunday. I am going to play mostly 10/20nl at bellagio along with 5/10nl and 10/20nl if it runs at Wynn and Venetian. I want to take about $10,000-$15,000 with me but dont want the hassle of carrying so much cash through airport security etc...Has anyone wired money to any of these three cages before? Prety straightforward and simple process? Do you know if they will cover the wire transfer fee if you request it? Thanks...

Re: Wiring cash to the cage
I remember this being a question before the WSOP last year. Try a search older than 8 months ago and poster Jeffage. I'm not sure why he sticks out in my mind, but he does.

Re: Wiring cash to the cage
The cost to wire is on the sending bank. The casino will not charge you to accept a wire transfer and will not charge you to send anything back if you are rated. My bank only charged me like $12 to make a wire.
Carrying $15K in cash through airport security is not a problem. I have done it several times. Folded properly, $15K does not take up much space in your pockets. |

Casino credit generally is not for poker play. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but OP can do what we usually do. Pull some from the line at craps or blackjack, have a couple of cocktails, play a few rounds, then head for the poker room. As long as you haven't blown it all in the first half hour. |

Re: Wiring cash to the cage
For $10K or $15K, I'd just carry it. Not a big deal.
Somewhere around or past the $20K point you may run out of pockets to spread the money amongst to avoid bulges. Then I might think about wiring it. But yeah, wiring cash to a casino cage should be no big deal. Call them to get the details for exactly how to wire it. I believe they will wire it back to your account when you're done at no cost, or give you a check on the spot. If you have the right bank/broker and the right amount of money in your account, you can get free wires. Otherwise I suspect you'll have to eat the cost to wire it to the casino. |

Re: Wiring cash to the cage
They won't cover the wire transfer fee (you have 15k and you're worried about $12, lol ;-)). Call the casino and ask for the cage manager, then ask her/him for the transfer instructions. They'll also reverse the transfer at the end of your trip should you have any money left over.

Re: Wiring cash to the cage
I have $70,072 and am worried about $12 :-) Thanks for all the responses...I think I will just carry it...nothing like the priceless look of shock, dismay and utter confusion when you request $15,000 in cash from a Bank of America teller while yawning...
