reboot your wireless router also |

rebooted the computer
unplugged the router for 2 mins and replugged it in rebooted the computer opened network connections window still trying to acquire ip address hit repair kept trying to acquire ip address after 5 mins so I cancelled it :/ |

Make sure DHCP is setup on the router?
Sounds like your router doesn't want to assign IP's but your PC is set to acquire one |

I've had similar problems and my mistake was that I had entered the wrong WPA key, so it just kept trying to connect with the wrong key.
