Question about self control
I just read Dr Al’s article on winners in the magazine forum.
It posed a few questions which maybe someone had some insight into. I seem to have very good self control in all aspects of poker. {I play live mostly limit 20/40} But have serious control issues in life for example: *easily triggered road rage *a serve lack of patience when trying to express myself/getting my point across *getting mad over small things i.e. little things I forget or my girlfriend does So why the difference? I don’t understand how I can have control with one thing but lack it in many other aspects of my life. Note: I have a low stress good job and no big issues currently on my mind. |

Re: Question about self control
If every time away from the table you lost a finger joint worth of finger, you would not have a problem with controlling yourself.
Because your actions have no serious consequence to you, you do not treat your actions with respect for the people you are dealing with. That's my guess at any rate. |

Re: Question about self control
The way you describe yourself I would think that you would be a really loose and impulsive player at the table. I find that people's poker playing styles are generally akin to their personalities. Not always but usually.
