Physical Therapy? How good a career choice is this?
For the amount of schooling you need to go to, is this worth it?
It seems you start around 60k/year or so, but does it top off quickly? Is there money in this? Is it only great people who would make decent money at this or do most move up without a private practice etc? |

Re: Physical Therapy? How good a career choice is this?
There used to be an attractive server at Majors in Bloomington. She is a Physical Therapist and supplemented her income for a while as a waitress until she was able to work fulltime as a PT. I believe that PT income probably tops out like you guess unless a person can move into sports. $60k to $80k is a good income.

Being a physical therapist has a limited financial upside.
Owning and operating physical therapy clinics, however, can make you very, very rich. One of my parents' friends in Houston did this and has more money than God. |

it's definitely worth it if you're into it. I don't know your utility curve, but most PTs receive quite a bit of life satisfaction from helping people out.
As one who has recovered from an ACL tear, I love PTs. |
