Default further question about vegas poker rooms

i posted earlier about finding a resonable room/where the especially good poker games are and was directed to an extremely helpful link. i was just curious if anyone knew if any of the less expensive rooms, like the plaza had good enough games to make it worth my while to play 5 hours a day there. ill be playing prob an average of over 10-12 hours a day (i plan on getting all degenerate esp at first) but want to put in good time in good games. would i be better off just staying at a non casino/cheap off strip type place or putting in hours at a room like plaza (do they always have nl games going and/or limit games in the mid limits). i have never bween to vegas and in atlantic city where i frequent the prob with the smaller poker rooms is they have a bunch of 2-4 games going and not much else. im sure this is less true in vegas but i honestly dont know how much so.
here is the link

any advice on any of the less expensive rooms is trully appreciated,
matty

Default Re: further question about vegas poker rooms

Most of the cheap places don't have a poker discount, and it's not worth your time to put in the hours to get it anyway. The Plaza often has $45/night midweek rates for anyone, but their poker room is 2/4 solidly, with 1/2NL and 3/6 both occasionally, but NEVER a higher game. In fact, it's not easy to find a game higher than 4/8 outside Wynn, Mirage, Bellagio. Caesar's and MGM are the two next most likely, but higher games are sporadic.
In general, just stay at the cheapest place that doesn't scare you, and play wherever your whims take you-- don't tie the two together your first visit there. Once you find where you like to play, look into a discount at that place for your second trip.
