Default KQo against LAG player

villain is 40/17/2.9 after 80 hands

Poker Stars
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $0.10/$0.2
6 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises</font>, CO folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero 3-bets</font>, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls.

Trying to isolate the LAG player correct here? Or is KQo too weak in this spot?

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7.5SB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5.75BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, UTG+1 calls.

Raising in this situation on both flop and turn with TP is correct IMO.

River: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (9.75BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 bets</font>, Hero calls.

Would you suggest to raise the river ?

Results:
Final pot: 11.75BB

Fold PF. Other than that, nh; don't raise the river. He c-bet the flop, found the J on the turn and rivered 2pair.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 52.072% 49.10% 02.97% 163955576 9910788.50 { 66+, A5s+, K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, ATo+, KTo+, QTo+ }
Hand 1: 47.928% 44.96% 02.97% 150122127 9910788.50 { KcQd }

That might not be entirely correct (he might just be an avid blind stealer and otherwise raise reasonably), but it shows the trend: you're definitely not a favourite here, but rely on your postflop skills.

Fretello, I think the hand ranges you are giving are a little bit too wide and it makes the percentages look a little better for the KQos. But if his range is that wide and I have 48% equity with my KQos getting the blinds to fold and position is worth it all right there IMO.

thanks for your response fretelöo!

assuming that villain has a wider raising range, let's say down to 44, A5o+ and so one... does this hand turn into a favourite?

winky,

I just put 17% into 'stove. I agree that KQ is probably a bigger dog as he'll probably blind steal and therefore could just have a slightly loose PFR range from anywhere but LP.

Hunter, no, you stay a (slight) dog. It's high card strengh that's killing you, plus that you can't make flushes.

preflop and flop i like fine. turn, not sure, i probably just call down from that point on, as you're telling him you have/can beat top pair and he's still coming at you.

I like the raise on the turn cause these 40/17/3 guys are there just to have fun. Villain's like 'I just hit a jack and I still think you're full of it... you don't have a K... I donk.' OR he's like... 'my pair of 6's are still good.' You got the maximum value out of this guy.

Oh and fold preflop against this guy?! You're nuts.

I think you played this hand perfectly.

I can't believe people are advocating for a fold PF. This hand is plenty good to play against a LAG, especially in posiion and 6 handed.

Definitely raise the flop.

Kick him in the balls after he donks the turn.

River card sucks, but just calling is best, IMO. Folding would be out of the question.
