BEAT: Gas station calls cops on me
A couple weeks ago I rolled into a Pilot gas station and asked for 20 bucks worth.
I was in the full service lane and handed the guy a $20 because I was headed inside to stop at the Subway that's connected to the gas station. By the time I get back, the pump is still going, it's at 24 bucks, then 25, then 26, and I stop it at $26.70. They guy says he's sorry and agreed that I handed him a $20. I refused to pay the extra 6 bucks and change because I didn't ask for it. He has the manager come out and the manager says he either needs the money, or he will be pumping my tank. I won't let him pump my tank, and he won't let me leave so he calls the cops. I talk to the cops, they understand my plight, and agree that I did nothing wrong, but they are confused if the station can really pump my gas tank for the couple gallons. I finally agree to pay because it was taking me so much time, and so I count out the six bucks in change from my ashtray in my rig, then I literally DUMPED the change on the ground at the pump and drove away. The cop watched me do it and I swear he smiled! Should I have done anything differently?

1) this is dumb
2) even if it were true, its not funny and, 3) you're cheap 4) ban no one who has under 70 posts should be allowed to post.

On my life this is a true story. I saw the other guy's post about the pack of cigarettes and it reminded me of my "gas station" incident.

It had the ring of truth to it, even though it seemed at first like an obvious reaction thesis to my own wonderful pullitzer prize-winner. I really like the way you handled this. If you're digging down into ashtrays for change we're coming from the same type of place on this stuff, and you can't expect these billion dollar ballas to understand obv. "Just leave the car there and buy a new one if you don't like the amount of gas," is the type of responses you can expect.

I actually like this post. It's a shame you had to pay for their mistake. What if they had pumped say $100 for reason, are you liable for the $80 extra? Legally probably not.
