Report says Pentagon manipulated intel
[ QUOTE ] WASHINGTON - Pentagon officials undercut the intelligence community in the run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq by insisting in briefings to the White House that there was a clear relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida, the Defense Department's inspector general said Friday. [/ QUOTE ] Associated Press This is the beginning of the Iraqi Scapegoating Game. What's going on is Buch & Co. realize Iraq is a lost cause. Pull out is not imminent, but it is inevitable. With power shifting toward the democrats, Bush & Co. are justifiably scared of an upcoming witch hunt. In an attempt to avert the consequences they have sown and rightly deserve (a little "pre-emptive action" if you will), Bush & Co. are going to burn a few sacrificial lambs. The sad part is that the Democrats will most likely let them get away this. One, both parties probably feel that it lies in the country's best interests for its the Highest Office to remain credible to the masses. Two, Bush & Co. will offer to concede additional powers to the democrats in exchange for being allowed to walk away from this. The Presidency itself is probably for sale. Meanwhie, bill after bill is getting introduced, all with purportedly noble intentions such as protecting children, that only serve to curtail the liberties and freedoms we should be guaranteed. |
