Default I try pf 4bet with JJ

Villain is 2+2 reader judging by his post-hand chat ("HU for rolls! HU for rolls!" yawn).

Anyway, seemed quite nitty but more than capable of a light 3b on the button. Once the flop came down, I simply could not see a way to proceed. His turn bet IMO could mean anything and although it felt horribly weak I didn't want to play for my stack here given I judged his range at QQ+, AK, maybe AQ. Could he really have worse than that?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($52.10)
Button ($69.50)
SB ($130.52)
BB ($46.50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, Button raises to $7, 2 folds, Hero raises to $21, Button calls $14.

Flop: ($42.75) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: ($42.75) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $17, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $59.75

BTW, if villain is reading this, you act with no grace at the tables. And stop talking about PT numbers with the fishies watching you clown.

Based on the action you're probably beat a lot of the time here, but even you aren't, you've turned your hand face up as either JJ or QQ by playing it the way you do. Im not sure I try to represent a set or AK either here, but if you're not going to get tricky all this is standard.

i don't credit him as a good player after this. Any player who tries to say how good they are by explaining what they are doing really don't understand what they are trying to do in poker.

I really dont like the 4bet with JJ. If his range is wide just call and play OOP postflop. I like c/f on the flop, you beat QQ only. I see no reason to cbet here.

calling and crai the flop is much better than 4betting here, and if hes decent he wont be repopping you light when you open utg unless he thinks you are not positionally aware.
