Which value to play for?

$60 Live tournament, 7500 starting chips, 20 limits

SB- 6400
BB(Hero)- 10500
Reads: SB is as best I can tell a weak/loose kinda guy. I have seen him limp/call/fold at least 3 times. He will however stay in if his hand looks pretty pre-flop.

Background: I've been card dead almost the whole time with the only hands that I have won coming from blind vs. blind battles. Against SB I have taken 4 out of 4, when it was just the 2 of us, with pre-flop raises (junk) after he completed. On one occasion I raised pre-flop and the SB called only to fold to my c-bet. I've also been beating up on the BB when I was in the small blind. I have shown down nothing.

All of this has been noticed by the rest of the table and has been a topic of conversation at least twice that I overheard. I have watched this table and I am now ready to use the spots that I believe I can exploit.

I ask this only because I was curious if the value of checking and showing is better than betting villian off the hand or possible getting him to call with a lesser hand? I believe he is the type of player that will fold here pot committed or not.

So what's better future value or chips at the moment?

I'm fairly new to the forums, but I don't see any reason not to bet here. Whether he calls or not, you're play has been pretty standard so far, and it seems like he's on a draw, possibly straight or even the club flush. I think if he folds it would be that much better if you plan to continue to play tight.

Normally I would agree here but there really isn't much time remaining to play tight. I think there is less than 5 mins at this level left. The next level is 400/800 and after that 500/1000 doubling the rest of the way. This in a live tournament is only 3 more orbits.

Well you can always bet and show down if he folds or not, I see that often enough. It may seem blatantly obvious that you want people to know you had the cards (for table image purposes I'm assuming), but the fact remains that people are more likely to remember what they see then what they don't. And the more recent the event, the more likely they will remember it. The best of both worlds there I think.

Why are you checking?

Is it to show him that you raise with KTo preflop or to show him that if he calls you light on the turn he will get a free showdown on the river?

I didn't raise KTo preflop though it can be argued that I should have. I think I am guilty of over thinking this.
At this particular point in the tournament it goes though an acceleration of the blinds making it a neccesity to steal to stay afloat. I've just been trying to come up with ways to make this easier for me.

I have to agree with you here that giving a free showdown has it's phsycological disagvantages as well.
