playing $500NL @ at a large LA casino...8-handed, most players have over 1K in front of them, game is playing fairly deep at this point.

Folded to Mr. Lopan in the CO, I make it $25 with 99, SB and BB both flat call.

Flop comes AA6r

Checked to me, I bet $65
SB (tight player, will not c/r bluff, tourist from ALASKA) min-raises me.
BB tanks and folds, I fold

SB shows AQos
BB assures us he has QQ and he rabbit hunts the turn and it is an ACE !...ok so if SB smooth called, and BB smooth called, it would've been a jackpot, 4 Aces v Aces/Queens.

Big [censored] deal !!!




I personally would've received ~$1250 for my table share, jackpot was 30k supposedly...my point is, BB starts berating and calling SB names saying "You [censored] it up, you [censored] it up, that was my jackpot"

get over it, we're not playing jackpot poker, we're playing poker, even if I was the BB, sure I would be a little bitter but its not the end of the world and he has no right berating another player just b/c he decided to play his hand and not play for the jackpot.

I don't mind them in certain circumstances - as long as the payout isn't impossible to hit. 0EV and they atract gambloors which is +EV.

However, if the qualifier is too high (rendering variance sky-high) or the casino re-rakes the jackpot fund for some other purpose they suck.

I personally never hit the jackpot, and I would gladly slow play my trip/ quad aces to hope to get a piece. The reason is this. I have been playing poker for about two years and only got a table share back in my 3/6 days which amounted to a wopping $275.

Here is my math: 40 hrs x 100 weeks = 4000 hours. I am playing the SB, which pays for this about 4 times an hour. So, I have paid out $16,000 to win a wopping $275. Of coarse, this doesn't inlude the money that I have lost to the BBJ from pots I have won that had this BS rake taken out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is complete bullSt that the Bicycle Casino has the audacity to drop BBJ's for it highest stake games. REally, if you can afford to loose ten grand in one night, the BBJ isn't really going to change your life. So, yes, at the stakes you are playing at, I agree with you, but getting mad about it is sort of picayne.

BTW, the the Bike has a label on every table that reads.

How did BB rabbit hunt? Did he ask the dealer to do it? The way I read it, it sounds like BB himself dealt it.

I hate jackpotters. I played X-Mas eve ($1/$3 NL( and some guy kept asking each dealer if they deal a lot of jackpots. Only thing that made me happy is when he blew his $400 he was sitting with and blew two rebuys.
