Salsa recipe
Anyone have a fav salsa recipe? I got this one from a co-worker and make it about once a month or so.
Ingredients: 5 Anaheim chilies Green Onions (About 1/2 of a bunch) Cilantro Med tomatoes ~2 Serrano peppers ~2 Jalapeno peppers ~2 Onion - 1/2 1 can Hunt's diced tomatoes 1 can of Hunt's tomato sauce w/garlic Garlic - to taste Salt - to taste Pepper - to taste Roast the Anaheim chilies over an open flame until the outside is burnt. When complete, scrap off the burnt skin and remove most of the seeds. Chop up the other ingredients and toss in a blender. Chop it up pretty good so it is well blended. It's hard to stop eating it once you start... |

Re: Salsa recipe
I made this last week, it was awesome.
2 Habaneros Poblano chile New Mexico chile 1/2 large onion a few jalapenos a few serranos one large (28 oz?) can whole peeled tomatoes 2 cloves garlic cilantro salt to taste also blend this.....pretty similar recipe actually, however if you want it pretty hot, this will bring it to you. i'd say it's a solid level hotter than the above recipe, doubt you can buy any in the store as hot as this. i also made guacamole today...jalapenos are so key to that, the hot and cool balance is amazing. |

Re: Salsa recipe
I made a separate batch today just for my co-workers tomorrow. They said it could have used a bit more chilies last time. They won't be saying that tomorrow... I threw in a bunch of Serrano's and chili flake......... I'm going to watch them sweat and gulp water.
Habaneros are some serious heat... |
