Default Check cashing

I am heading to Vegas on Friday and instead of making a trip to the bank I thought I would just take two paychecks from my employer and cash them at the casino. Do casinos generally cash out-of-state checks and if so do they charge any sort of fee?

Thank you for any help.

Dont do it. Bring cash or travelers checks. The chance a casino will cash your out of state payroll check are very small.

Atomic Liquors on Freemont Street. Ask for Bob. He will give you a good deal.

Just go to the bank and get cash. If you're going to Vegas, benjamins are the easiest way to go usually.

The reason I wanted to avoid the bank was because it's pretty far out of my way, and I beleive I get charged a fee to deal with an actual human teller. I could use the ATM but I'm bringing enough that carrying it around in all 20's would be annoying, plus I can only get $500 a day out of my ATM, so this would turn into a multi-day process if I did it that way. Bringing a check that the casino would cash seemed like the most convenient way to go. Anyway, I'm rambling. I'll just go to Atomic Liquors.

I always just carry cash. Most hotels have a safe if it's a large sum that you don't feel comfortable keeping it in your room. I have never had any problem carrying cash in Vegas.

I believe this means you need to find a new bank.

What's the problem with just cashing the checks before you leave and bringing cash? I can't imagine you'll be in a dark alley at anytime between your bank and the casino in Vegas. Just stick it in your front pocket.

I don't have an issue carrying cash. The reason for my post was because cashing my checks at the casino would have been the ultimate in convenience. No side trip to the bank, no standing in line, and no being charged a lame fee by my lame bank. Since it appears that casinos will not cash out of state checks, it looks like I'm going to have to go to the bank.

Thank you to all for the helpful replies.
