I slow rolled and loved it. (Long)
I would consider myself quiet at the poker table; I'm never too involved with table talk and only offer my two cents when it's asked for. However, this hand came up at the casino last night which was bad ethics but made me smile inside and out.
We are playing $3/6 Limit, there are only 6 people at the table at the moment, it is folded around to the SB (villian) and BB (me). the SB raises and I call with 7-8 off suit. the flop comes 8c-Ac-8s. villian bets out, I raise. He looks at me and says "standard". I must have had a puzzled look on my face because he then says, "You internet kids can't lay a hand down when ya'll are beat." and then goes on to Re-Raise. I'll admit that my pride was a bit hurt by his antics so I then re-raised him. The dealer at this point reminds us that since it's headsup, the pot is uncapped. He laughs and calls. The turn comes a 7c. He smiles and bets, I raise. He takes a moment and calls his buddy to the table who was playing $1/2 NL and says "Watch this hand, I'm going to take a hunk of this kids stack." As soon as he said this, I put him on the nut flush, Kc Xc. The villians buddy sort of looks at him like why on earth would you be saying this. The villain repops me and has the biggest grin on his face. At this point, I begin to wonder if he held A-8 or even A-A. I really didn't think he would be talking like this if he had those two hands because he would want me to call. I knew he put me on atleast trip 8s or a player who couldn't lay down an Ace. I figured I'd go for broke. I re raise him and he immediately re-pops me. I reraise again, he just calls. The river is 2d. We proceed to raies and re raise about 4-5 times. The action gets back to him after I repop him and he asks to call over the floor. I was a bit confused at why he wanted the floor. The manager comes over and the villian says, "we're playing limit here but we keep re-raising like no tomorrow. If we both agree, can I just put in the rest of my stack instead of wasting all this time." The manager turns to me and says that I do not have to agree with this, that the villian can just raise and I can keep raising or end up calling whenever I want. He asks the rest of the table what they thought and they were all amused at this point and couldn't careless if we put the rest of our stacks in. I go into the tank for a short moment and decide to agree to his plan. He smiles and says, "Go ahead and muck your three eights, I got the nuts." He turns over Kc Jc, stands up, and calls his buddies name and says, "BOOOM!" At this point, everyone, including the dealer, the players at the table, and the manager all give me a sympathetic look. The dealer begins gathering all the chips into the center getting ready to push villian the pot when I say, 'Wait." I begin laughing out loud and the villian puts his hand on my shoulder and says "Sorry Son." and without missing a beat, I say, "Me too, I turned the full house." He looks down at my cards and then at the board and proceeds to get super pissed. I back up from the table a bit as he knocks over his chair. The manager, who was still standing there steps in front of him and tells him to gather his things. I ended up with 623 total after that hand, doubling up. The villian had me covered by 9 dollars, making my night all that much better. |

HAHAHA, next time I'll take your advice, but it's perfectly ok to splurge every once in awhile.

How much did you toke and his showing his buddy the hand is worse than the actual play itself. you got a read off of the 1/2 NL guy, i'm sure that helped in your decision making process.
AA and A8 are not out of the question in normal circumstance. |

I HATE getting slowrolled but in this specific situation, temptation may get the better of me. I would probably have done the same thing you did

Sorry. I gotta call BS.
Granted it was 3-6, but I find it hard to believe that the two worst players in the state wound up sitting at the same table. |
