Re: Tough Hand Deep in Stars $11 6max Tourny
really dependent on how hes been playin previous, it looks like he says he can beat AQ. if u guys had no history together id say fold the turn, maybe the flop, after a flop c/r average players go into calldown mode with top pair hands. know that in order to be good here hes either pretty bad and likes to spew chips (QJ-QK, JJ-88), or is bluffing.
personally this deep, oop, on a basically drawless board like this i like to c/c the flop, lead or maybe c/c turn, usually lead river. |

Re: Tough Hand Deep in Stars $11 6max Tourny
I've seen people make re-raises on the flop in spots like this with hands like JJ-1010 or even AK, especially if you've been aggressive. Very tough spot. I think I would have c-bet the turn. See what he does, and if he still wants to dance with you, let it go. Without much history, I don't really see a wrong decision.

[ QUOTE ]
*** FLOP *** [3d Qh 7s] double a tom: checks Gomer8: bets 3200 double a tom: raises 6400 to 9600 Gomer8: raises 8000 to 17600 [/ QUOTE ] I would fold the flop. Definitely fold the turn. This flop is about as drawless as it gets, and if Villain is reasonable AQ is at the absolute bottom of his range for raising preflop and then betting + 3betting the flop after your check raise (AQ probably doesn't reraise there). By the way, my default play would be to check-call this flop. |

Re: Tough Hand Deep in Stars $11 6max Tourny
you need to reraise preflop and play your tptk strongly on the flop. You played this so weak besides your check-raise that he could have anything. Remember this is a 6-max so your average player isn't going to be shy stacking off with less than tptk and you want their chips if they are one of the donks who will throw their chips away with hands like that. I'd say your opponent has a weaker Q most of the time otherwise he would have shoved you on the flop. But there is also a chance you're beat, but it's not likely enough for you to let go of AQ here.

Re: Tough Hand Deep in Stars $11 6max Tourny
You trapped him IMO by slowing down with AQ, this is an easy reshove for you, since most of the time the aggro player misses a lot of flops.
I agree with Shaun that you should have reraised here PF, but you didnt, shame on you. So shove, shove and shove some more. |
