Default Video Sites

Has anyone had experience with websites that use video as its main content. I just threw one together realy fast and it seems to be doing pretty well. Wondering if anyone else has had experience with this.

I don't, but don't you need a good webhosting deal for that? The traffic that the videos generate must be quite heavy if you get alot of visitors.

not a problem as most "video sites" are using embedded other video sites content.

I don't really think theres anything wonderful about video sites that use other sites content.

I'm excited to see what youtubes advertising plan is, I read they will pay users a percentage of advertising generated from videos that they upload.

Yeah, revenue sharing seems to be the next direction for youtube and a few other sites. A video site could succeed if it focuses on a particular niche. Imitation is right about embedded video. It don't think it uses up as much bandwidth. I lot of people use it for their wordpress sites.

Alright the CTR has normalized now that its been up for about a day. It is about half of what my text only sites are but I am making about $1 per click. Im fairly happy right now with it.

Ron,

I thought about that a couple of weeks ago. Cool to see it is a good idea.

How did you get traffic into the site though?

I just used Myspace to test it out. I usualy manualy drive traffic to a site to check things out when I first start working on it to see if it is worth putting in more work. I found that the CTR for this video site is realy low. I do much better with text based sites. Maybe the content is just too interesting. Anyway im going to keep messing with it and see what happens. Ill keep everyone updated.
