Default Vegas for AllStar weekend

I will be coming Friday through Monday night. I know all the room rates have been jacked up for the weekend, but this weekend just seems like a +EV time to be there to play cards.

I'm looking for any suggestions where I might get a good poker rate for the weekend. Were going to stay at the Riviera on Sunday, its $71 for the night, by far the cheapest we could find. But what about Friday/Sat, any of you locals know of a hidden gem.

Thanks in advance

Also, if any fellow 2+2ers want to meet up, PM me. Would like to meet some people other then the Arizona folks.

Kurt

PM nearer the event if you haven't found a room.

After this weekend I'm hesitant to declare that All-Star Weekend will be juicy.

Seriously.

All Star weekend does not hold much promise. Very very few tickets were released to the public. And this game does not bring much action to the sports books.

http://www.sosoderrty.com/main.html FTW! This looks like it may be some sweet events to go to if you're into this type of entertainment.

Actually, now that I've slept on it, people will be in town for the Wynn tourneys as well as the Venetian "We can't think of anything that's original and go by our own schedule, so we'll bite off someone else - again" tourneys, so there should be some action.

I just have no idea how much since all the major $$$ will be at Commerce, unless people get bored over there and come in for the weekend (like a couple I ran into this weekend, including FTP's own imgrinding!) but it should definitely suffice.

I only work m-th so weekends with holidays give me four days. I head to Vegas nearly every single one. I'm relegated to Main Street Station downtown that weekend. Its the only clean place I could find under an average of $120 a night. But its been booked up for a while.

Vegas Club, Gold Spike, and El Cortez are all sketchy and not worth $50 a night, let alone over $100 a night, but those are the cheapest options I could find. Of those, Vegas Club is probably the best choice due to location. I assume you have a car since you are staying at Riviera.

Another option...this past weekend Hooters dropped their rates at the last minute to under $90 a night. So you might keep checking their webpage every day.

update, We got the Plaza at 115 Fri/sat, so 250 with taxes and crap. not bad, while the gf sleeps I can rake in the money at Binions, every time I've played there the 1/2 has just been great. Love the tourists that want to say they've played where poker was made famous. Cashed 3 1,000 sessions in November. Fun times!!

hmmm...I think the poker might actually be really juicy during all-star weekend....

lots of fans + entourages + players...I assume 10/20NL and higher would be good but then again with all-star galas, pit games, parties and other [censored] many people might not have time to play.

I'm torn on if I should make the trip or not...anyone wanna sway my indifference

I've dealt to Shawn Marion sitting at a 2/5NL.

He was action gamboooooolllll... and always had $1000 ready to whip out when he went bust to re-buy.

So.

But that was on a weekend off and whatnot (or during pre-season, my memory's foggy). No idea how it'll be during AS Weekend.
