Excel % Formula Equation Help Please
Don't know where else to post this...
I am trying to total a column of percentages. I know how to total a column by highlighting it, then clicking the "Sum" button. But that doesn't work for percentages. For example, if I have two fields of 50% and 70%, it is totaling it as 1.2, when it should be totaled as 60% for the average. Can anyone give me the correct field formula to cut and paste into the formula bar? Thanks |

Re: Excel % Formula Equation Help Please
Click on the cell that you want the formula located. Click the "=" above the sheet. Click the pulldown menu and select "ave". Then follow the instructions. I'm not sure what you are doing but do you really want to average percentages? That's typically not a good idea.
