Re: Most Balla Watch EVAH (?)
Eh, I'd rather have 20 nights with $10,000 hookers.

Re: Most Balla Watch EVAH (?)
the IWC apparently has a "minute-repeater" function. you really can't get much more balla than being able to REPEAT TIME
(and yes, i know what a minute-repeater really does) |

Re: Most Balla Watch EVAH (?)
Both those watches are hideous, and there are much better/more expensive watches lots of places.

Re: Most Balla Watch EVAH (?)
I can't say I like the gold, and that watch has parts polished largely by machine, but in plat this would be nice.
This price is just because of the minute repeater. Any Grande Complication watch is going to be exceedingly expensive. This one isn't that nice when compared to other GC watches from the better companies, but still blows almost everything else out of the water. Some companies to ALWAYS go to if you want something in this price range are 1. Patek Phillip- far and away the best in value retention and craftsmanship. 2. A. Lange & Sohne- not swiss, but excellent watches. 3. Vacheron Constantin 4. Bruguet There are plenty of others, just make sure to check with Patek. My roommate has a few Pateks, and every single one has gained value, while being lightly used. Any watch with these complications will be ridiculous 1. Tourbillon-75,000-100,000 2. Minute repeater-75,000 3. Rattrapante/split chronograph-40,000 4. Perpetual calendar-30,000 These are some of the Grande complication types. If you combine two of these you will end up with 5 mercedes worth of wristwatch but not lose anywhere near the value. My personal choice is the one in my avatar, A. Lange & Sohne- Lange 1 tourbillon in platinum. You can get one for 75,000 to 100,000, and the tourbillon is more desirable in this market than the minute repeater, although I would maim a girlscout for either one. And do not get a rolex, the movements come from a crap assembly line like timex do. Vintage rolex or none, and just for daily wear at that; they lose value. All Pateks have the "Geneva seal" meaning they have been hand polished and assembled, years of 10 hour workdays can go into a single watch. Cam |

Re: Most Balla Watch EVAH (?)
OMG the comments on Amazon for that thing are hilarious...
[ QUOTE ] See, the watch doesn't work using a normally charged battery. Nor is it one of those fancy "charge-as-you-move" watches. No, this watch actually works at the level of your soul. Positioned at just the right distance from your hand, this watch sits flush with your soul. Every 44 hours, it has to recharge itself with your soul. [/ QUOTE ] |
