forum search problems

Am I retarted? I am trying to use the search function in the forums and everytime I use the "-" symbol it doesnt work.

For example if I want to search all subjects not containing the word preflop I type in "-preflop" But it never works!

Another example. I type in "-re:" to leave out all replies to searches and all I ever get is all the posts for the day.

Please help! I am addicted to searching.

There is a plus symbol as well. For instance, if you wanted to search for preflop but edit out the replies, you would type: +preflop -re:
