Default 2/4, TT - Just can\'t let go!

Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $2/$4
9 players
Converter

Button is 24/4/1 after 100 hands, and I don't remember anything unusual in his play.

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero raises, 5 folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7SB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5BB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets, SB folds, Hero calls.

River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

Results:
Final pot: 9BB

You're right, you couldn't let it go and lost what I'm guessing from this hand is about 100 hands worth of winnings.

I'm confused by the 4th street play. If you felt the flop was good enough to bet, why check when another 4 hits? Then again, why would the button smooth call the flop and then bet the turn?

Flop's a real standard C-bet. There's a bunch of options on the turn none of which are that appealing; but when this dude bets the river we're dooomed.

On my best days I check and fold the turn.

On my so-so days I bet the turn and then check and fold the river.

On my not so good days I just keep betting until the Button shows me A8 and takes the pot.

On my worst days I check and call somewhere.

bet/fold the turn is a lot better than check/call the turn.

the river call is the worst part though.

I bet/fold the turn..if u get raised then you can let it go as he is saying "I got you beat, bud". be aware that his low pfr means that he is probably just calling alot of hands that you and I would 3 ball with.

if he has an ace he wont fold but he might fold a hands that have KQJ in it that can suck out on you on the river. Hell, he could even bluff you on the turn when you check with KQ thinking he as your 2 big cards without an ace beat.

I just dont like it as played because you put yourself in a guessing game. if you are beat you are losing 2BB by c/c c/c turn river and if you are ahead villian probably checks the river and you win 1BB.

For those advocating a b/f on the turn (which was my initial thought also), what's your plan if we just get a smoothcall of our turn bet?

re-evaluate river, but probably c/f.
