Was I too aggressive with trip aces?
Online NL, .50/1.00 blinds. I'm in late position with $136. Villain A UTG, stack $45.20, Villain B ep with $100.95. Both fairly new to table, no real info. Table as whole had been fairly tight, somewhat passive. Villain A UTG calls, villain B calls, a mp raises to $5.50. Hero calls with AK of spades. Villains A and B call. Flop comes 8-A-A rainbow. check around to hero, hero bets $15. Villain A calls, villain B raises to $40, mp folds. Hero goes all-in, both villains call. Villain A has A-J, villain B has 8-8. Villain A spikes J on turn to take main pot, villain B takes side pot with the underfull.
So the only hands that I could have been behind on the flop were 8-8 and A-8. A-8 has no business calling preflop, so that seemed unlikely. But should I have respected villain B's reraise and folded, or just called? Just calling doesnt seem like an option. Villain A made a bad call, but was I overvaluing top kicker here, given the betting pattern? Or is this a hand I was destined to go broke on? My first post, so sorry if I'm not clear or omitting information. Thanks in advance for any input.
