Who\'s your favorite source for chips?
I need to buy a medium size quantity of chips and a case, but don't want to buy a set, where I'm locked in to the number of each color. In fact, I may not even buy anything other than white and red to start. I'm not looking for anything special. Reasonable, low- to mid-priced chips will be fine for the game we're starting up.
So, based on: Reliability, speed of completing order, chip price, and shipping rates, who do you recommend? (This is for a U.S. order.) |

Re: Who\'s your favorite source for chips?
I used 5stardeal as well. Super cheap for a decent set. I actually bought a bunch of the 1-cent hot press error chips to see what kind I wanted before getting a full set.
Unless you plan to travel a lot, don't get a case. Racks racks racks! Makes everything easier. And that way you can buy whatever color and quantity of chip you want. |

Re: Who\'s your favorite source for chips?
Thanks, guys. Given the two quick responses, both recommending the same supplier, I went ahead and ordered from 5star. Also, thanks for the suggestion about racks instead of a case. I got those, too.

Actually DCG is cheaper than 5star and Tom is more personable.

Yup, it is. Don't know yet about how personable Tom is, but I may find out in the morning, if I'm able to cancel my order with 5star. Thanks for the info.

Re: Who\'s your favorite source for chips?
Nothin' special. I'm not entirely sure this poker night thing is going to fly, so for the moment, I only want to fill up on some white chips to match a box of chips I have lying around the house, and they're just standard 11.5 g suited composites. If this works out, tho, I'll definitely be ordering something a bit more classy.
Now I gotta go finish putting some legs on a table I rescued, and get it ready for the pad and felt. Thanks to everyone for your help. |
