Default $60: Internet OUT, friend helped finish 3rd, how much to tip!?

So I grab my lap top last night and sit down and fire up my first $60 STT, as I'm searching for a second game my internet goes out. I can't get back on!

I call a friend who only plays $1 MTTs and $6 STTs. I tell him that he needs to play for me. His response to me "are you crazy? I'm not playing a $60 tournament!" So I tell him I'll stay on the phone w/ him and tell him what to do.

He did a great job of updating me on chip stacks and position and I directed him into a 3rd place finish.

How much do I tip him?

U would have lost the buy-in otherwise. Winnings less your buy-in.

Buy him a beer or two. You actually were giving him a SNG lesson at the same time as he helped you

LOL, it's funny you say that. A few times he's like "push? really? Oh, OK, they all folded. I never would have done that!"

Before I posted, this is the amount that seemed most fair to me.

i get this all the time...sometimes friends come to sweat and all they say leaving is "you go all in too much"

as far as the tip, i would mention that he can start grinding the micro limit sngs (like 3.40s on stars maybe) and give him a couple of buy ins for that...maybe a beer also

I dunno a beer we've had this thread before but I have taken over tournaments for other people and they have done the same for me and none of us have ever expected compensation.

To give sort of an example the day Bigt final tabled the wcoop event he didn't have any money in his stars account so I shipped him some literally 5 minutes before it started and he ended up winning 130k or something, he didn't pay me anything nor did I expect him to.
