MP3 ($168.35)
CO ($71.20)
Button ($98.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $4, 1 fold, Hero calls $4, 2 folds, CO calls $4, 3 folds.

Flop: ($13.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)

Hero bets $27, CO raises to $27.2, Hero calls $0.19.

Final Pot: $147.90

Should I be raising the UTG player here?
Should I fold the turn?

edit to add that UTG is a good, straight-forward player. I don't know anything about the other player yet.

I raise PF to $12. As played, I think I can lay down on the turn. He is not raising the flop with air with UTG yet to act.

he's milking you. Why did you lead the river? You decided to check-call on the turn, so you should do the same on the river and hope he checks behind.

If you lead you lead turn allin and get at least some FE...

Another option is to simply check/fold turn

ronaldann-

I don't think I played this hand very well. That's actually why I posted it.

I agree with your advice of c/c the river as well.

But I think you might be making the mistake of always assuming that everybody else is playing as well as you. (In this case not as well as me because I completely botched this hand.) Players like to bluff. The know they are supposed to bluff. Many on this level don't pick good spots where you or I would.

In this case my opponent showed K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I have no idea why he called my river bet. Nor do I have any idea why I lead river.

In yesterday's hand with the jacks I did call and my opponent had kings.

Sniffing out the donkeys is something I'm really trying to work on. This is why player notes, etc. are so critical.

yes, knowing who you're up against should have a huge effect on the decisions you make.

The reason he called your river bet was because it made no sense whatsoever:-) But luckily for you villain turned out to be the mother of all fishes! If you butchered it he played his hand 10x worse....

JJ hand from yesterday...not surprised he had KK as I actually guessed that in one of my posts.

Here's the thing, I think that QQ is just enough hand to just call with here sometimes. Since there are only two overcards that can come, and your opponnent UTG's range is pretty narrow, and can be played pretty easily against after seeing the flop. Not saying I would do it very often, but I think with this opponnent, his position, and your position in relation to him, not reraising his pf raise is fine, as long as you have a plan for after the flop.

I would have re-raised pre-flop and then led flop (as you did), check/called turn and c/c river.

CO didn't call river, he raised. Obviously it was a post-oak bluff. Most people would fold to the scary min-raise, but hero made an incredible call. Nice one.

Raise PF, Since CO didnt raise PF id have to put him on 99-JJ, River bet is good once youve commited that far since anything that beats you wont check river anyways, but anything u beat might.
