Default Where to stay near the Commerce?

I'm planning on going to L.A. for the WPT Invitational March 2-5 at the Commerce and was hoping for some advice on where to stay. I'm not sure yet if my girlfriend's coming with me or not, so quality may or may not matter much. Also, if anyone else is going to be there around then, we should arrange to meet up at some point.

Steve

I've heard good things about the East Si-i-i-i-de Mo-te-e-e-e-e-l.

How close would you like to stay to Commerce? I have lived in Southern California forever and could suggest a few places. It all depends on what you're looking for ...

Would you like to be super close to the casino, by a beach, downtown, hollywood? What is the range you want to spend per night?

**BTW** It isn't ALL gangster and ghetto here!!

Not a whole lot of cool places in that area. Here is a map.

I live in Newport and am kind of a snob but there isn't a lot of places in that area that I'd want to stay. The problem is you'll be playing poker late and won't want a long drive home. Might as well just stay at the Crowne Plaza right there.
