AA against TAG
Villain is fairly TAG (20/9/4 over 100 hands). This was part of my first time playing $2/$4 (not very successful unfortunately), so I was also on sort of new ground here.
This hand was noted by my reviewer, and the problems involve the play on all streets (flop, turn, river). I don't like playalongs, so I'll just put in the entire hand and ask for comments on all streets. Re: AA against TAG
Isn't this a very easy 3bet on the flop? If you had bet, lead the turn, obv.
As played, I don't hate the turn check (trying to c/r, I assume?), but he might raise with the FD. So I'd strongly consider betting the turn in any case. I don't get what could be wrong with the river bet. |

Re: AA against TAG
DrModern will chastise you for posting an AA hand, you know.
You should come back over the top on the flop. Villain may have: 1) A set 2) 9x and wants to buy some outs 3) A draw and foolishly thinks raising is the best way to get money in the pot 4) A slowplayed monster PP 5) Any old hand and thinks you could be c-betting AJ+ Note that you are only behind one of these. |

Re: AA against TAG
3 bet and bet the rest of the way. Were you trying to check/raise the turn?

Re: AA against TAG
*grunch*
I'm 3 betting the flop, and leading out on the turn. I 3 bet because of the two flush, because I think I have the best hand and because villain may be raising thinking you have whiffed overcards. |

3-bet flop. If capped, call down. If called lead on turn and if villain raises call down from there too. andrew |
