A bill has been introduced in the Washington State House to make it okay for people to play online from their home.

This hasn't been posted here before - this is different than Senator Prentice's new legislation. This is a House Bill and is actually on our *side* instead of the side of idiocy!
This bill needs to be supported! Instead of being nasty, you should spread the word! |

Just called my state representatives and state senator to voice my support for this bill. Talking to their staffs, I get the impression they realize how stupid the felony law is and the need to have it amended.

Yeah - sorry - didn't realize the thread was buried so far back. I only checked a couple of pages back.
Glad to see some people are contacting their legislators. One of the supporters of this bill is a legislator I contacted after SB 6613 came into law. He originally voted for SB 6613 (basically because it was rushed through extremely quickly and nobody was given the chance to question it, and it had passed unanimously in the senate). Afterwards he realized it was a bad law and this is apparantly his effort to help fix it. Please support this bill in whatever way you can! |

response from rep:
"Thanks for the input. Actually, that bill would make changes to the underlying law, but such gambling would still be technically against the law. It has to be, since there is a Federal law that makes it illegal in the whole country." |
