live WSOP satellites
Does anyone know what kind of live satellites go on in Vegas before and during the WSOP? Do they even have satellites for the cheaper events? I'd like to play in some of the $1500-$2500 events or second chance tourneys cause I'm only bringing about 5K. Any advice on this?

Re: live WSOP satellites
they run all sorts. each one costing a different amount and paying out in $500 chips that can only be used for wsop entries.
they start out around 120 or so for a little cash plus 2 chips to the winner, and go all the way up to 500 something for 10 chips plus a little cash. they pretty much run 24/7 at the rio. |

Re: live WSOP satellites
Starts June 1, 2007. Schedule doesn't say what time if you want the first one. See link below for schedule.

Re: live WSOP satellites
In my experience playing the 225 and 325 STTs it was winner take all in $500 chips, but 6 out of the 7 tables I played had some sort of a 2 or 3 way deal.
Brag: I won the only one that didn't chop and I had set over set over set against Eric Mizrachi and Bill Gazes on the 3rd hand. |

There was a ton of great info posted. |

Re: live WSOP satellites
Back in the old days, (2004), they had $50 single table sats. Those were great. Sigh. No more.
Last year at the Rio, the smallest I saw were $125. These did NOT run 24/7. Most of the time they stopped at about 10 pm. $175 sats seemed the most popular, and there were more expensive sats running also. Side note: I sure wish WSOP management would work on their satellite organization, because it was always chaotic trying to get a seat. There is (was), definately a lot of demand for sats, but the lines and waiting got outrageous. This was 2 weeks before the main event. Enough ranting, to answer your other question, there are also twice daily MTT satellites, and I belive the buy-in was $225. |

Re: live WSOP satellites
I was there about halfway through the main event, and the organization didn't improve. The first day I played, it was a wait to get 10 people, much less a dealer. I guess noon is very early at that point of the WSOP.
But yeah, after that, the lines were very long for the $125 and the $255 or whatever it was. Your best chance of success was to work the ends of both lines to try to get them over to your $175 line to fill it up by the time the next table opened. I think it's just a matter of Harrah's always wanting to be short dealers, e.g. never paying a dealer for sitting around. They are too stupid to realize that if a guy walks in and sees a line 15 deep, he's probably going to turn around and walk out. They've turned away that guy's business. |

Re: live WSOP satellites
Does anyone know if they have satellites at Harrah's in AC, and if so, do they start June 1st also?
