Default How would you play this? KQo

I've played this opponent often during the past few days and had him down as a fish. 163 hands played, 38% VP%IP, 0.61 PFR, 0.18 AF. I know KQo isn't a great hand but in MP and a situation like this it's at least worth a call isn't it?

For once I'm going to agree with the (presumed) consensus and say, "raise preflop to punish the limper."

first off this is a super easy raise preflop

given how you played it just fold the flop

if you do call the flop, the rest is good

*Grunch*

Raise Preflop.

Providing that you raised Preflop....
I am check/folding this flop because the LP is probably calling with any two OC or trying a CR with the 7. If he bets out to you after you raised preflop i feel we are way behind, maybe 7, maybe pocket pair, maybe AK, etc, etc.

Turn:
If the flop went check/check....

Bet if checked to, raised if bet to when the Q hits the turn, call the 3 bet.

River depends on action before that.

The way that it was played

Easy fold on the flop with two overcards against an "unknown" hand.

I agree - for the record even if you count all 6 outs for your overcards (which with a paired board is too high an estimate) your break even odds are about 6.67:1. With only 4SB in the pot you gotta muck it.

this hand is a good example of preflop vs. postflop mistakes, and why good postflop play is so important.

limping this hand instead of raising it is a mistake. it is a relative small mistake but will occur relatively often (with other hands like AJ/AT/KJ as well).

calling on this flop, on the other hand, will not occur as often, but it is such a bad one that it is the more detrimental of the two. to make such a call you must guarantee that you have all 6 outs and will net 1 big bet every time you hit one on the turn, including those times you are outdrawn.

I call when there is 4 or more limpers when in LP, or the SB(and check the BB)

typically always raise when there are 3 or less

sorry that's a crap question. i'm just trying to understand when and why I raise preflop and when i fold. I now think I realise why I raise in a hand like this, I'm just struggling to put it into play.

Here's how I play it--it would play different because I raise pre-flop. It would likely get checked to on this flop which has also likely not hit anyone. As such, I would cb. I would probably also bet the turn and river. The way you played it, you probably have to fold the flop, as you are only getting 4:1 to hit your overcards, and have no fold equity.
