Default Dealer\'s Average Pay

I have a client doing a stated income home loan for a Dealer in one of the San Jose cardrooms. What would be a reasonable amount of annual income for someone who has been dealing 10+ years and works OT?

FWIW, I did a little experiment on trying to figure out how much a dealer would make in an 8-hour shift on an average night (this is at Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, NM).

An average dealer both in speed, accuracy, personality, etc...I chose one in which I felt was a "middle-of-the-road" guy and here is what I found:

Avg. hands per down (using automated shufflers) - 18

Avg. tips per down - 16 (all $1 dollar tips)

Wage @ $6 per hour.

Figuring that, that rolls out to $38/hr. Sure, some will be better, some less, so let's lowball him and say $35/hr.

Figure in 35 hours a week = $1225/wk

I don't know how vacation works regarding dealers, so let's assume no pay for 2 weeks, so 50 weeks = $61,250/yr.

And that's lowballing him. Let's not cut corners and say $38/hr for 40 hours/wk, for 50 weeks = $76,000/yr.

And that's just a regular dealer with "normal" personality and normal speed. If you crank out more hands and have some personality to go with it, $80k+ is surely doable, imo.

And this is why I am switching professions...well that and I am burnt out in my current one.

And he'll be on break for about 1/3 of those 30 hours.
