Why are Jews so funny?

I recently purchased seasons 6-8 of the Simpsons and have watched most of the commentary for each episode. I found out through the commentaries that most of the writers (from the good seasons of course) were Jewish. These guys were hilarious not only for their writing on the Simpsons, but the commentary was some of the funniest [censored] I've ever been able to listen to.

Not limited to the Simpsons, it seems like most funny guys in Hollywood are Jews too such as Larry David.

Why is this?
