Live Level Times = What Online times?
I don't get to play much live but love to get in some time in AC when I can. I was wondering how level times compare live vs online. This way I can gauge, other than the obvious M & Q measures, how aggressive I need to be building my stack.
Example - does a 25 minute live game equate to 10 minutes online? How about a 50-60 minute live time? Thanks |

Re: Live Level Times = What Online times?
I've tried to measure this myself. it seems like 9 hands per 15 minutes in live play. So i'd say 30-35 hands an hour in live play.
In online play...its kind of hard since i haven'tplayed hold em in a while...usually omaha and stud take longer. But with that said... I've measured 55-60 hands per hour (for 1 table). thats about 2x as fast. I hope that helps. |

Re: Live Level Times = What Online times?
In my experience in the mid rounds of a tournament it goes painfully slow. It also depends a bit on your table. I've sat at tables where it goes at LEAST 5 minutes per hand on average.
Auto-shufflers also speed it up. I'd guess that it's from 15-35 hands per hour considering these things. EDIT: I'd say the dealing in the Stars Million is about 3x as many hands per hour as a live event. |

Re: Live Level Times = What Online times?
It gets ridiculous when the blinds are like 150/300 and one guy pushes for 1k and the BB it sitting there thinking for 5 minutes about whether or not to call (even when they have like 12k chips so it isn't a huge decision).

Re: Live Level Times = What Online times?
it helps if table and dealer give some sort of implied pressure.
