Because their lawyers are paranoid and reactionary, just like every other corporate entity on the planet.

I've talked to two cs reps and they assured me that people were not having their accounts locked for doing these peer to peer transfers.
Of course I trust them 100% as cs reps are always the most knowledgeable and informed people in any corporation. |

Re: why is neteller mad for people transferring money to each other?
They're making a ton of money off peer to peer transfers, so they are not mad at that.
But since they have made a 'committment' to not facilitate the transfer of American funds to gambling sites, they cannot condone it being done using them as a conduit for a portion of that transaction. Now I think that different managers at Neteller are taking different approaches. Some are turning a willful blind eye, sort of a don't ask don't tell attitude: "p2p transfers are allowed, and then what you Europeans do with that money is your business". With those guys, as long as you don't actually tell them that you're then transferring to pokerstars from which you'll transfer to the Americans' accounts, you're okay. Other supervisors appear to be more active in trying to prevent this. With them, you may have to be more active in making up some story about why you're doing all these transfer, etc. But it appears that in general, business is going on as usual. Just don't rub it in their face when you talk to them. |

They said to me, "You can transfer to a non-US account as long as they plan to deposit it into a merchant ... we are not a bank and do not want people transfering money just so they could cash out."
Im sure they know what is going on ... turning a blind eye is their best defense |
