Stars - Withdrawal questions
If we do a peer to peer transfer on Stars, how much of the money do we have to put in play before withdrawing? I transferred $2800, played 2/4 NL and made about $400 tried to withdraw and security put it on hold. Thoughts? Should I sit at a 1/2 limit table with it all in play?

You might want to edit that title before people freak out.

Re: Stars - Withdrawals on Hold
FYI - This was their email:
"Hello Bryan, Your cashout has been placed on HOLD. It has come to our attention that you are attempting to cashout directly from a transfer received from player: "Radiihead", please explain the reason for this and your relationship with this player. Transfers are usually made between players so that the person who receives the transfer can play at the tables. On this occasion it was noted that you cashed out the funds soon after receiving them. Using it to settle debts from outside PokerStars and not to play on the tables is not allowed. We are not a financial institution or a money transferring service. Every deposit and cashout has fees that we willingly cover for players that deposit to play, but we can not be covering fees for deposits and cashouts not intended for play. It is standard procedure to request an explanation when this type of situation occurs. We do not mean to imply any wrongdoing. Thank you for your cooperation. Re: Stars - Withdrawals on Hold
Yes because the funds are so you can play there not withdraw them right away. Stars isn't going to eat the 8% fee unless you give some action first.

Re: Stars - Withdrawals on Hold
If you got the money from a person you made a P2P transfer to on Neteller you have to give them more action.
Pokerstars takes the Neteller fee when people transfer to them. I don't know the exact percentage but lets say it's around 3%. Your $2800 have cost PS about $84 and they would take a loss if you only played a single short session of 2-4 and then cashed out. You should give them an appropriate amount of play before cashing out. Now, one could argue that this cost is tied to the person making the inter account transfer but I don't think PS sees it that way and they shouldn't considering the channels money has flowed into PS last couple of days. PS isn't an internet bank and a way for people to quickly get money out of Neteller. Why not just keep your money there for a while and play some poker. The money wont dissapear, unless you are a big fish. |
