is this lighting money on fire?
villain is a 20/10. I have a lot of hands on him, but i think most of them are from my friends db, as i don't remember playing with him much. fwiw, my overall stats are somewhere around 25/21 for 6max, but at this table over 80 hands ive been 23/17.

Re: is this lighting money on fire?
raising an 20/10's utg's raise with 5 high can't be profitable

if villain was instead a 2p2er, do you like it better/worse?

Re: is this lighting money on fire?
You don't think someone will lay down AQ or AK here? OP is saying he knows the villain probably has an A but that his hand beats it. The turn check behind won't look like it was to induce a thin value bet on the river from the villain? I don't like reraising a 20/10 UTG with 54 however I do kinda like the bluff.

Re: is this lighting money on fire?
I don't understand why is not an easy fold. if you would have followed up on the turn I think that you would have a better idea if you are going to get him to lay down an ace, but if he called your reraise on the button, he is calling with AT or worse. so I don't think he is laying it down when you check the turn...

Re: is this lighting money on fire?
What hand are you trying to represent post flop? If I was the villain and this hand was in a vacuum, I'd put you on QQ or KK with a desperate bluff at the end, and snap-call with an A. He's getting 2-1 on the river call, and no hand that beats an A makes sense here given the way you played this (except maybe JJ, and I don't think anyone will fold putting you squarely on JJ).
If you are gonna keep bluffing, shove the turn instead of the river to maximize your fold equity. Also, just fold pf. |
