This always bugs me in tournaments. How low would your X be in early position and early in a tournament if
a) table was very tight and you suspect that you're only going to get callers or limpers behind. b) table contained some aggressives and your raise or limp will be met with a reraise. Personally I limp down to A5 or A4 suited, but then nearly always muck to a big reraise. This is a leak in my game. |

Just instamuck A6s-A9s from EP. Almost always muck A2s-A5s from EP.

I've stopped playing small suited As up front.
It's much better to play in late position behind limpers because, unless you flop something big, you're going to either a) play a flushdraw b) play a top pair hand with a poor kicker both of which sucks when you're out of position, but may be profitable in position. |

Stay away from weak aces, especially in early position.

In EP I muck everything but AQ+ at a full table. 6-handed my minimum is AT suited and I do a mix of limp/raise depending on the table.

This depends on how deep you are, what stage of the tournament, and how much your opponents suck.
In general, just fold. If it's late in the tournament and they're all really tight and you're raising almost every hand, obviously raise. You'd probably have to be like 250 BBs deep to make raising UTG with A6s at a 9-handed table good. |
