Default 5cd Pstars $5 trny bad push?

My rationale is that this guy was SS, and before he even bet I thought, if he is betting here he is AAxxx or KKxxx and my trips were best before draw.

Pls let me know if bad move or not.

I'm not laying down trips to a short stack unless the guy is so weak that he'd get blinded off before pushing 2 pair or a big pair. That doesn't describe many Stars players.

As villain raised for most of his stack before you, he's pot comitted anyway. As short stack he'll be desperate and make a move like this with just a pair. Your set is a little small, but probably fine given his sad state.

You have him well covered, so go for it. I like the play.

Is this a SNG or MTT? (and does anyone know if they're the same speed?)

Because I think in the SNGs, the structure is too fast to almost ever throw away a set unless you were up against someone who folded the last 30 hands in a row. A set is at the high end of most players raising range.
