Default is 1200 hands shorterm?

im typing this, because I am coming off a large run of bad luck over 1200 hands. Im used to winning on a rate in NL hold 'em of 0.4 Big blinds/hand profit. My strategy is simple (NO ITS COMPLICATED), but I am a selective maniac and use this style with my experience and the fact I can outplay almost everyone at the felt including good pros. So with that said, After winning made for a weeks on a site, I lost my balance and lost about 0.5 Big Blinds per hand. This was sick.. Every race was a loss where i got the short stacks in with their chips. Twice i had AA vs. KK and twice a king on river. Flop a set, runner-runner flush kills me or an over set it seemed every time. Outplay a player and find a bluff-call spot and i was right, he has 3 outs and (BOOM)>

However, the bankroll loss didn't hurt me too bad. It kind of makes you wonder if you are doomed @ times no matter what you do. I know when you have a hand like JJ vs. AK you are higher than a 55%, but on those cold days you are almost like at 40% and on the other side when nothing goes wrong those jacks are over 65% it seems.

What im trying to say, is there any way to figure out times (horoscope type?) to avoid these bad spots. I have had many days where i would lose a C-Note in my first five hours of playing and then i get it all back and then some by bed time, but those feelings of the can't go right and wrong.. Can they be identified?

Short answer: no, you can't know for sure when it will happen.

And yes, 1200 is the short run for all reasonable variances and win rates.

I am suspicious if you really claim to be winning .4 BB/hand long term. Put me on record as a skeptic.

As far as astrological means of knowing when it will happen, no that's hogwash. Sort of like the poker numerology thread a couple of weeks ago.

1200 is a very small sample size and proves nothing.

You are asking basicaly how to predict luck. I wish I knew, I'd be very rich.

1200 hands is obviously the short run. its what people like to call varience. I have a hard time believing that you are as good as you are implying when you ask question like this. it seems common knowledge for most players...
