Default Dumb criminals story

Let's deal drugs out of a mall clothing store. We can pay retail rent and no one will notice the customers walking in an out without buying any clothes, that we never do any marketing, or that our employees just stand around all day.

Acting on a tip that drugs were being sold there, officers searched the store and found brown paper bags with substances they believe to be cocaine and marijuana, and a bag filled with $8,000 in cash, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Hennepin County District Court Friday.

I don't know what a "search warrant affidavit" is.

I just hope that you need more than "a tip" to get a search warrant.

my buddy and i growing up were fairly good shoplifters. however he liked to sell weed also. he used to shoplift AND carry bagged up greens. he got caught and the thing with shoplifting is you can sometimes talk your way out of it, or just have some adult on the roll who will play the roll of your guardian to some flashlight cop. however, if u have drugs on you forget it.

A search warrant affidavit is an affidavit signed by a police officer as part of a request for a search warrant. The affidavit cannot be based solely on a tip, they must have something to coroborate what the tipster said. I think in this case they could have watched people go in and out of the store without buying anything. or they could've wandered out of uniform into the store to see if they could smell anything.

Not sure. the paper has a "thing" about not saying what race people are. this is the paper that refused (or maybe still refuses?) to call Indian teams by their Indian nicknames. e.g., the baseball team from Cleveland instead of the Clevealand Indians. It was in a suburban mall on the south end of town. there are plenty of blacks in the south end, but the Northern suburbs proly have a higher black population.

I like how the news article refers to the criminals as "brothers"
