Did i play this 99 poorly in 22r
100/200 blinds 25 ante in the stars 22r. Villain in hand has been quite active, fairly loose and hasn't been all that aggressive.
My stack: 12,800 Villain stack: 36,900 I have 99 on the hijack. Preflop: Folds to hero, hero raises to 600, folds to SB, SB calls, BB calls. Flop(pot 2025): 4 8 8 rainbow SB bets 600, BB folds, hero calls. Turn (pot 3225): 7 villain bets 1200, hero calls river (pot 5625): Q villain bets 2500, hero calls. I feel like i might have played this a little weak, but on the flip side i feel a bit like its W/A W/B situation. If he's got a 4 i'd like to keep him betting and if he's leading an 8 i don't want to piss chips away. Agree with this the whole way or do you like a raise somewhere (the turn perhaps?) |

i like it the whole way. i would probably never do it, but if an passive players milks you like this, can we sometimes find a fold on river?

Re: Did i play this 99 poorly in 22r
His bets are on the small side, but not small enough for me to raise him. I think he'd have to be betting half as much to make a raise worthwhile. By the river, I'd be far from certain I was ahead, and would definitely be looking to call down (pot odds too good to fold).

you can probably find a fold on the river here.

Re: Did i play this 99 poorly in 22r
I reraise the flop every time, not only to hope to take down the pot (99 figures to be ahead here), but also for pot control in case you get called. You'll then get a free turn card and can choose to take it and re-evaluate on the river.

raise flop != pot control, lol.
bond - i like how u played it and prob couldn't fold at any point....maybe the river but it just seems weak to do so. |

he bets 1/3 of pot, i think u need to raise here.
id make it 1900 then bet 2500 on turn then check behind on river |

Re: Did i play this 99 poorly in 22r
Look at the post above for a demonstration on how raising the flop does equal pot control (assuming a smaller turn bet).
Regardless, the flop is begging for a raise and you have enough in the way of chips and it is exactly the right textured flop for your hand to do it. |

Re: Did i play this 99 poorly in 22r
I like how you played it. I get the feeling you got outdrawn by a [censored] betting AQ weakly.
Sometimes I raise the flop, but I have to feel pretty confident about what to do if reraised, and I don't here. |

Re: Did i play this 99 poorly in 22r
Why are we raising this flop? I would like to make something like 3-5k out of this hand And get to showdown.
If im raising here, check behind turn, and are faced with a halfpotbet or more on river thats half our stack going in. With a line that makes it harder for villain to have a worse hand. And if we got a winner and river is a checktrough, raising flop actually gave us less chips than call down. |
