i think the US version of the office is abysmal in comparison to the UK version. just saying like

Yeh The American version is truly better, no discredit to the british version because the american version has many scenes and lines identical, and ricky gervais is awesome, i just think the minor members of the office add something to the show that couldnt be done in only 12 episodes for the british. That being said think most people will have loyalty to whichever they saw first

I saw the British one first, and thought it was better for a while. However, after the second season of the US one, and so far in the third season, my opinion has swayed. I still think Gervais is amazing as the boss, but I like the overall cast and story lines better for the US one.

Also, agree that it's tough to compare too much, since the UK version stopped so quickly

There isn't as much content in the British version for sure, but I think it has a vibe that the American version doesn't match (and like you said, Ricky Gervais is the man).
