30/60 stud/8: My weakest game, this is standard, no?
Question is about 5th I guess. My read was that villain had one or two pair. You are free to question my read on this one, but the guy is certainly quite capable of having one pair here.

Your opponent is brain dead imho (or dosn't realize its stud8) You are most definitly a favorite over 1 pair. Against two pair you're about 50/50 due to the dead cards.
Does anyone else bet 4th in this situation? |

Bet 4th like every million times for ever-ers yo
Given the way this hand has played - 5th is good IMO |

What was your thought process on 4th street?

(Just noticed that it didn't explicitly say that I brought in here - I did.)
Of course I somehow didn't think of this while posting the hand, but I actually thought he might let me checkraise 4th. He didn't, but maybe my check made him decide on 5th to be more aggressive? |

I don't think your line was too horrible in this unique situation. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Re: 30/60 stud/8: My weakest game, this is standard, no?
Bet fourth. On fifth, if he has a set, you're a significant dog. If he has two pair, you're around even money. And if he has one pair or less, you're the favorite. Now if he doesn't have a set, he's misguided, so this depends on your assessment of opponent, but unless your opponent is a good player, I think your level of aggression is fine.

Re: 30/60 stud/8: My weakest game, this is standard, no?
Stud/8 isn't my best game, but I look forward to it in the HORSE cycle because of donks like this guy. Bet fourth, jam the whole way unless you brick 5th AND 6th, unless from your read he's more likely to have started rolled up than with just a pair.
Even though my gut reaction is that guy is a donk playing for high only with once of his queens dead, one must at least consider that he started rolled up. You were there and would know, but AAQ seems more likely. You are ahead if he just started with a pair but playing catchup (and basically playing for your own money) against trips. You also have added equity in that you can tell what a donk this guy is to have pushed this hand so far to start. Push it hard. |

Re: 30/60 stud/8: My weakest game, this is standard, no?
Oh, and in my experience, no, this isn't standard. Better players don't reraise with a Q doorcard unless they are rolled up, and even then they might not if it will help disguise their strength, as when one or two other donks are pushing high pairs. Unless this guy is rolled up, you want to play with a guy that plays like this for as long as possible.
