100NL 6max: How\'s this pf shove with AKo?
UTG is 14.58/1.04/0.5 over 96 hands. The reason I play somewhat shortstacked here is because I've just moved up, and I'm following the advice in NLHE:T&P to buy-in a little short in the beginning.
How is this pf all-in? Should I just have re-raised enough to put the shortstacks AI, or is an AI better to fold out UTG and isolate vs. the two shortstacks? Prima Poker skin No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $104.30 CO: $13.33 Button: $105.83 SB: $11.85 Hero: $66.60 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG calls, CO raises to $4, Button folds, SB calls, Hero raises all-in $66.6 |

Why not make a normal reraise, look at CO + SB stacks. Shouldn't matter too much though...
I guess UTG limped in with his AA/KK? :-) |

KK to be exact. I felt like he would've raised pf with such a hand like 99% of the time so I wasn't even considering AA/KK as possible holdings. Perhaps I should've raised instead of shoving, but I was afraid UTG might call and leave me OOP. Then I wouldn't know what to do if I missed the flop. |

I think this advice in NLT&P isn't very good. In general, I would argue buying in short requires more new knowledge about the game than moving up does.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I feel I've had to play differently from before, a bit more tight ect, but I played pretty tight on my previous level as well, so somehow I feel like I'm learning some useful things playing shortstacked. For example that my 100BB play is a bit too tight, and that I'm not fully using the advantages of being deepstacked. At the same time I feel a bit more comfortable buying in for the same amout I used to do one level down ($50 at 50NL) while getting used to the feel of 100NL, the new betting sizes ect. |

Re: 100NL 6max: How\'s this pf shove with AKo?
I don't see the problem with just calling and seeing a flop. A push here for 66BB looks very AKish and you have enough money to play a raised pot. If you re-raised (making it say $10 to go) and you don't get a pair on the flop you are in a difficult position (a $30 to $45 pot on the flop) with only about $50 left. If you reraise and miss there are only really two plays; bluff all-in on the flop or try to check it down. Neither options is all that appealing.

Re: 100NL 6max: How\'s this pf shove with AKo?
UTG raises 1% of his hands and plays only 14% of them. When he limps UTG its a monster. Regardless i dont like your push unless you are doing it with a wide range of hands.

I don't really know. It doesn't seem to matter so much. I'd probably just make the normal raise, but what would you guys do if reraised?
